The Magicians Guide to Perfection

1. Introduction

Greetings, This Guide will Most likely be a lot like the rest of the Magician Guides on this forum, but the difference between those and mine are... mine have a simple design and proper grammar. Hopefully this will make it a lot easier for the newer people who don't understand a lot of the skills and or just the bad grammar in most of the guides.

First off Magicians are mainly Intelligence based, with a few luck thrown in for equipment. the basic point of the magician is to stay away from monsters and finding vantage points to attack from without being hurt in the process. Because the magician has such a huge Mana pool and such a small Health pool you will have to carry a bit of HP potions and MP potions in emergancies at all times until you become a Cleric!

Now most of you reading this will probably be a little confused at first by the lack of Stat or skill points in the guide. This is because I have another spot to talk about these. So use the stat and skill guides as reference as you use the main guide(if this don't make sense PM me or leave a message saying so, and i'll attempt to make it more clear).

2. Stat Guide

Stat Guide for the magician is extremely simple. For the whole time you're playing you will be putting everything into Intelligence for the most part, except you need to have a certain amount of Luck to wear the armor and weapons made for the magician. easy way to do this is when you first begin make your luck 3 points higher then your level then once you do that just add 4 to intelligence and 1 to luck the whole time you play. All done. Easy right?

3. Skill Guide

Skill points, now these can be tricky if you don't know what your doing.First off once you reach level 8 put one into Energy Bolt(You will never add anymore points into energybolt, remember that). Now for level 9 you will receive 3 skill points for every level for now on. put your first 5 skill points into "Improving MP Recovery". Only add 5 for now. Once you get 5 into MP recovery add all your skill points into "Improving Max MP Increase" the most you're able to add is 10. Now once you have done all that Add 10 Points to "Magic Claw" and only 10 for now. After you get 10 points into claw Max out MP recovery which is 16. After you max out That skill you have 2 choices. Choice number 1: Save up 10 skill points and then add them to Magic Claw all at once. Choice number 2: Add the skill points as you level up to Magic Claw. I choose Choice 1 because once you go from level 10 magic claw to level 11 the MP requirement to Cast is doubled from 10mp to 20mp. The choice is yours! maplestory mesos

4. Walkthrough

Starting out stats should be as follows:

Strength: 4 (5 is alright)

Dexterity: 4(5 is alright also)

Intelligence: Any

Luck: Any

Alright those are the stats you need to become a magician, if you give up and decide not to get 4 or 5 str/dex then you will be screwed later on. Trust me. Now notice the 'Any' next to intelligence and luck. Simply, it means don't worry about these starting stats at the moment because as long as you roll 4 str. and 4 dex.(or 5/5) then your golden! maplestory mesos

Now once you find a name and make your character and all that just ignore the NPC's and run straight to the monsters. Once you get to the first map with snails etc. go about 2 or 3 maps to the right and just keep attacking the green/blue snails(If you find that there is a lack of snails and a majority of people try changing servers until you find one that you like). Ignore the red snails and the orange mushrooms for now.

Once you become around level 4 or 5 go to the NPC with "click me" abover her name and do the quest she provides. Now back to killing snails! Once you reach level 8 take the boat to victoria island! Once you reach the island go to Ellinia(use taxi service which is next to the boat). This is where you'll become a magician! Great, now go find the guy at the top of the city to become a Magician.

Once you become a Migican use the taxi to head on down to Henesys which is the bowman town (IMPORTANT: Make sure you have atleast 1,000 Meso on you because once you become a magician you will have to pay a lot more to use the taxi!). Now once you reach this city go all the way to the left until you reach the portal to the next map. This map is where you'll be spending most of your time untill level 18 or so. Start off killing the snails on the very bottom and if you can get a group to hunt with.

Now once you reach level 11-13 you can attempt to take on the green slimes. Leveling will be extremely slow until you reach level 18, but don't worry the hell your in right now wont last much longer. Once you become level 15 you can try to kill orange mushrooms with Magic Claw. you'll be killing these orange mushrooms till your level 18 so get used to them.

Once you reach level 18 you have a choice, Continue to stay here killing the Orange mushrooms for acouple more levels or try something a lot harder but a lot faster. My choice is to try the harder but more rewarding way!

Take the taxi to Ellinia and grab whatever Weapon or Armor you need then head down to the potion shop. Buy at least 20-30 HP Potions and 20-30 MP Potions. these will come in handy when you are in trouble or stuck.

Now drop all the to the bottom of the city map then go to the map on the left. Once you get to the map fall down to the bottom of this map and then go left through the portal. Next map just go straight left to the next map through the portal also. Now see the door right below where you just entered with the "Danger!" sign? thats where we're going so be prepared to fight some Spikey Mushrooms! Once you enter this place be very careful because they can hit extremely hard for the amount of HP we have. Use the platforms to your advantage and stay clear of the mushrooms at all costs. You should be able to get the hang of hunting here rather quickly so have fun. Stay in this place until level 30 unless you find another place which is better.

Well congratulations you're now level 30. Now what to do? Become a Cleric of course! Head back to Ellinnia. Go back up to where you first became a Magician and talk to the NPC now do everything he says and meet the intructor and Collect the 30 dark crystals and become a Cleric!
