Okay, so those Pixies have nothing to do with Maple Story really. This guide is
based on training at Pixies, and how Archers excel at training there.

Why Train on Pixies?
--------------------------------
Pixies are naturally resistant to magic. Not only are their base magic defenses
high, but the two stronger Pixies can further increase their magic defense with
a skill. This reduces the amount of players who can train here, giving you more
chances to train peacefully without intrusion. buy maplestory mesos
The blue arrow pointing upwards indicates that this Pixie does higher damage
with its pimp cane... err, magic attack.
The blue circle is a shield, meaning that magic attacks do less damage to it.
Pixie drops are not all that impressive, though some equipment can sell for a
good deal. The real money makers of Pixies are in their leftovers. All Pixie
leftovers can be used in the exchange quest in Orbis, and the most notable prize
is a 60% Scroll for Cape INT, which is a rare prize for exchanging 100 Luster
Pixie Sunpieces.
Pixies also lend themselves to mob easily. They also can be sniped in certain
maps. It's so easy to train on Pixies as a ranged character; that and the money
there is to be made gives Archers a great place to train at for many levels. You
do not have to be funded to train here; in fact, when I was a new and unfunded
Hunter, I trained at Pixies with horrible equipment, yet I still fared well.
As far as experience rates go, there are other monsters that yield better EXP.
Pixies are meant to bring in revenues. Monsters like Zombies, Hectors, and
Gollems are better meant for EXP gaining. Needless to say, the EXP at Pixies
isn't bad, but there are other places to grind for more EXP.
--------------------------------
Requirements of an Archer
--------------------------------
You don't need to have lavish equipment to train on Pixies. You can get by with
subpar equipment. The purpose of training on Pixies is to provide a great source
of income while gaining EXP at the same time. For equipment, I will list the
minimum stats needed.
For first job skills, follow a standard build:
3 Blessing of the Amazon
8 Eye of the Amazon
20 Critical
9 Focus
1 Arrow Blow
20 Double Shot
For the second job, this is my recommended skill build:
Code:
Level SP
30 +1 Bomb/IA
31 +3 Mastery
32 +3 Mastery
33 +3 Mastery
34 +3 Mastery
35 +3 Mastery
36 +3 Mastery

56 +1 Power Knock-Back, +2 Booster

59 +1 Soul Arrow, +2 Booster
60 +1 Booster, +2 Focus
61 +3 Focus

64 +2 Soul Arrow, +1 Booster
65 +2 Soul Arrow, +1 Booster
66 +2 Soul Arrow, +1 Booster
67 +2 Soul Arrow, +1 Booster
68 +2 Soul Arrow, +1 Booster
69 +3 Soul Arrow
70 +2 Soul Arrow, +1 Mastery
For each training area, I will explain uses of your available skills at hand. I
do not recommend Final Attack Archers training here because the skill ruins
momentum here, especially when you have to mob. Final Attack Archers should
consider bigger, slower monsters, like Gollems or Yetis.
--------------------------------
When, Where, and How to Hunt Pixies
-------------------------------
There are a total of 9 maps containing Pixies. Of these, 3 contain sniping spots
with a packed ground floor. This guide will focus on those 3 maps, while only
touching on the rest.
Cloud Park IV
Suggested level range: 45-54
Monster spawns:
Star Pixie - 16 scattered
Lunar Pixie - 25 scattered
Fierry - 2, one at the topmost platform, one on the ground
One of my favorite maps for a long time, this map has a much more pleasant
design than the maps prior to this one. There are many sniping spots, and the
ground presents a great opportunity to mob.
Map Strategy
Blue square = spawn point; where you spawn when you log-in or change channels
Green Arrow = suggested flow
Red box = zones for party members
Orange circle = Fierry locations
Starting from any of the blue squares, you can easily jump into the flow. I
suggest going in a figure 8: clockwise around the top, then counter-clockwise
along the bottom half.
Fierries spawn every three minutes. If you attack one, kill it instantly before
it has a chance to buff ALL surrounding Pixies.
Anywhere there are staggered platforms like in zones 1 and 2, you can snipe the
Pixies from two platforms up, and they cannot attack back. Refer to this
screenshot:
A Pixie on an adjacent platform can attack back, but a Pixie two platforms down
cannot. Take that into consideration, and you can attack many Pixies without
getting hit back.
Ground floor: start at one end and work your way to the other while attacking
all Pixies on your way to get their attention. Gather them all up in one area:
Then jump down and attack them all:
You will get hurt, but that's the price to pay for killing faster.
The active skills you should have at your disposal:
L. 20 Double Shot - kills Star Pixies in one hit, Lunar Pixies in two
L. 9 Focus - not too particularly useful, but you might need it at the bottom
L. 6 Booster & L. 2 Soul Arrow - two buffs that last a minute each
L. 15 Bomb/IA - respectively, this is your only mobbing attack
At level 45, a Hunter has 192 base DEX with 45 STR; a Crossbower has 195 DEX
with 42 STR.
Bring about 200 White Potions and 400-600 Mana Elixirs. Pixies drop White and
Blue Potions, so you should get some Whites back, while you use the Blues you
find instantly.
Always have at least 200 HP at any given time. A Lunar Pixie can deal over 100
damage with its magic attack, and up to 200 or more if it casted Magic Up.
Partying
This map is best as a 3-person party, one person in each zone. It is possible to
have a 2-person party as well - one person will take zone 1, the other takes
zone 3, and zone 2 should be shared when the flow allows it. Party members to
consider having in a 3-person party are:
Warrior: zone 2 or 3; 2 is so the Warrior doesn't have to move far to attack, 3
is for the mobbing
Archer: zone 1 or 3; 1 is for sniping, 3 is for mobbing
Thief: zone 1 or 2; neither Assassins nor Bandits can mob yet
Equipment
The equipment I used here are (see the screenshot above):
Blue Distinction
Blue Moon
White Piette
Blue Piette Pants
Blue Pierre Shots
Gold Scaler
Old Raggedy Cape
Heckler: 65 ATK
Everything was average and clean except for the Heckler. With this setup I could
1-DS kill Star Pixies and 2-DS kill Lunar Pixies.
Minimum required equipment:
Any hat that adds something besides defense
Any earring
Any color Piette or Piettra
Any color Piette Pants or Piettra
Any shoe that adds something besides defense
Any glove that adds something besides defense
Cape is optional
Vaulter 2000 or Silver Crow
Suggested equipment:
Green Bamboo Hat or Green/Dark Distinction
Leaf Earring or Blue Moon
10 DEX Sauna Robe
Pierre Shoes or Green Snowshoes or Whitebottoms
Gold Scaler or better
Icarus Cape
Vaulter 2000: 62 ATK or Silver Crow: 66 ATK
Cloud Park V
Suggested level range: 49-59
Monster spawns:
Lunar Pixie - 21 scattered
Luster Pixie - 20 scattered
This map is almost a reflection of Cloud Park IV, but with a stronger Pixie and
sans Fierries. I personally never trained here, because I went from Cloud Park
IV straight to Cloud Park VI. Cloud Park V is a nice transition from IV to VI.
Map Strategy
Blue square = spawn point; where you spawn when you log-in or change channels
Green Arrow = suggested flow
Red box = zones for party members
Unlike Cloud Park IV, I suggest going clockwise around the map instead of a
figure 8 path. From where you spawn, you can easily jump right into the flow.
Like in Cloud Park IV, you can snipe Pixies from two platforms up.
On the ground, start at one end and get the attention of all the Pixies and work
your way to the other end:
Once your mob is sizable, get down there and kick them out:
See, even for level 99, I still get decent EXP.
You should have the same skills as listed for Cloud Park IV with one change:
L. 30 Bomb/IA - now that it's maxed, you can kill mobs faster
At level 50, a Hunter has 207 base DEX with 55 STR; a Crossbower has 212 DEX
with 50 STR.
Bring about 200 White Potions and 300-400 Pure Waters. Pixies drop White and
Blue Potions, so you should get some Whites back, while you use the Blues you
find instantly.
Always have at least 300 HP at any given time. A Luster Pixie can do over 200
damage with its magic attack, and up to 300 or more if it casted Magic Up.
Partying
This map has exactly the same layout as Cloud Park IV, one person in each zone
with a 3-person party. It is possible to have a 2-person party - one person will
take zone 1, the other takes zone 3, and zone 2 should be split in half by three
platforms. Party members to consider having in a 3-person party are:
Warrior: zone 2 or 3; 3 gives the best mobbing, 2 for the Power Striker
Archer: any zone; 1 and 2 for sniping, 3 for mobbing
Thief: zone 1 or 2; neither Assassins nor Bandits can mob yet
Equipment
Minimum required equipment:
Any Maro
Blue Moon or higher
Kismet or Lumati with +10 DEX via 100% scrolls
Any shoe that adds DEX or STR
Any glove that adds DEX
Any cape
Olympus or Rower with +7 ATK via 100% scrolls
Suggested equipment:
Green/Dark Maro
Skull/Heart Earrings
14 DEX Kismet/Lumati
Purple Steel-Tip Boots
Dark Willow
Icarus Cape
Olympus: 75 ATK or Rower: 78 ATK
Try to minimize substitute-STR, because it makes you stronger early yet weaker
later, and you want to be stronger later.
Cloud Park VI
Suggested level range: 51+
Monster spawns:
Lunar Pixie - 27 scattered
Luster Pixie - 28 scattered
Fierry - 2, one on the 6th platform from the top, one on the ground
The final map of Pixies, this is the home to many players, as it holds the most
amount of Luster Pixies in one map. The map is huge, and though the map design
is unique, it is perfect for Archers.
Map Strategy
Blue square = spawn point; where you spawn when you log-in or change channels
Green Arrow = suggested flow
Red box = zones for party members
Orange circle = Fierry locations
This map reverts back to the figure 8 flow from Cloud Park IV. For the top half,
work your way down platform by platform. At the bottom of zone 1, jump off to
the left, and work your way to the right while gathering up a huge mob. Luckily
you can use the rope to go directly to the top of the map to complete the flow.
Fierries spawn every three minutes. If you attack one, kill it instantly before
it has a chance to buff ALL surrounding Pixies, or, even worse, stun you.
Remember that you can snipe Pixies from two platforms up. Since there is one
long series of platforms, sniping is made easier in Cloud Park VI.
The ground floor is long and dangerous, made partly in fact by the wary Fierry
down there. One Fierry can ruin everything as you mob the Pixies on the ground:
Try your best to either avoid the Fierry or kill it quickly, as to not cause it
to buff your gigantic mob of Pixies. Buffed Pixies = sad you:
Or you could kill the Fierry WITH the mob.
As you get higher in levels, you have more skills to use. You should have maxed
Bomb/IA prior to training in Cloud Park VI. PKB is not so useful here because
Pixies are small and mob easily, so you may want to extend your buffs with the
SP you gain.
Bring about 300-400 Unagis and 500-600 Pure Waters. Pixies drop White and Blue
Potions, which should be used as soon as you can to conserve inventory space. If
you train correctly, you should be using up Pure Waters faster than Unagis.
Always have at least 300 HP at any given time. A Luster Pixie can do over 200
damage with its magic attack, and up to 300 or more if it casted Magic Up.
Partying
There are only 2 zones here since there is no easy flow to fit in more. However,
each zone is well suited to any job because of the map layout.
Zone 1:
Warrior: mostly will use Power Strike
Archer: pure sniping with Double Shot
Thief: sniping with Lucky 7 or striking with Savage Blow
Zone 2:
Warrior: mostly will use Slash Blast
Archer: will utilize Bomb/IA more than Double Shot
Thief: will undergo "panic attack": jumping and attacking, hoping that something
gets hit
Equipment: Level 50-59
Minimum required equipment:
Any Maro
Blue Moon or higher
Kismet or Lumati with +10 DEX via 100% scrolls
Any shoe that adds DEX or STR
Any glove that adds DEX
Any cape
Olympus or Rower with +7 ATK via 100% scrolls
Suggested equipment:
Green/Dark Maro
Skull/Heart Earrings
14 DEX Kismet/Lumati
Purple Steel-Tip Boots
Dark Willow
Icarus Cape
Olympus: 75 ATK or Rower: 78 ATK
Try to minimize substitute-STR, because it makes you stronger early yet weaker
later, and you want to be stronger later.
Equipment: Level 60-69
Minimum required equipment:
Any Polyfeather Hat
Blue Moon or higher
Tai or Choro with +10 DEX via 100% scrolls
Any shoe that adds DEX or STR
Any glove that adds DEX
Any cape
Asianic Bow or Golden Crow with +7 ATK via 100% scrolls
Suggested equipment:
Black Polyfeather Hat
Pink-Flowered Earrings or better
15+ DEX Tai/Choro
Green Gore Boots or Green Snowshoes with DEX
Dark Garner or any glove with ATK
Icarus Cape or any cape with DEX
Asianic Bow: 85 ATK or Golden Crow: 88 ATK
Try to minimize substitute-STR, because it makes you stronger early yet weaker
later, and you want to be stronger later.
Other Cloud Parks
Cloud Park I
PROS: Contains only Star Pixies, decent clockwise flow
CONS: No sniping potential
Cloud Park II
PROS: None!
CONS: No sniping potential, no flow, Nependeaths attack on sight
Cloud Park III
PROS: Decent clockwise flow with some Lunar Pixies in the mix
CONS: No sniping potential
--------------------------------
Now what?
--------------------------------
After a long training session at Pixies, you should walk away with much EXP and
Mesos. Your inventory should be full of Shinies, feathers, monster cards, ores,
and occasional drops.
Oh, and I forgot to make this point before:
YOU NEED A FREE MARKET STORE TO RAKE IN THE CASH!
Without one, you simply have an inventory full of stuff that you can't use but
someone else can. Invest in getting a Free Market store, because that's the only
way to make the big bucks. Remember to sell everything you don't need! The best
money-maker lies in all those Shinies.
If you seriously cannot afford a Free Market Store, sell it via one of the many
Maple Story websites available. The potential for greater profit is list this
way, however.
--------------------------------
Quests involving Pixies
--------------------------------
Fortunately, there are more reasons why you should hunt Pixies other than for
training. There are various quests that can be done involving Pixies.
VIP Ticket to Florina Beach
This quest starts in Omega Sector and ends in Orbis. Part 2 of this quest
requires 30 Star Pixie's Starpieces and 30 Lunar Pixie's Moonpieces.
Orbis in Danger
You must activate this quest first before hunting the Pixies for the items. Part
2 of this quest requires 30 Cloud Pieces, which will only drop if you talk to
the Mysterious Girl for the quest. Cloud Pieces drop from any Pixie, but at a
low drop rate.
The Chaos behind Alfonse Green and the Nependeath Juice
The first part of this long quest requires 100 Star Pixie's Starpieces and 80
Lunar Pixie's Moonpieces.
In Search of the Book of Ancient
At one point during this quest, you will need 100 Star Pixie's Starpieces, 50
Lunar Pixie's Moonpieces, and 30 Luster Pixie's Sunpieces.
